With multiple episodes slated to shoot in Spring of 2021, the first one, featuring American Thoroughbred horse trainer, Doug O’Niell, is being teased at this link here.

Episode 1 – Doug O’Neill

Doug O’Neill is an American Thoroughbred horse trainer in California, where he trained the 2012 Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner, I’ll Have Another, and 2016 Kentucky Derby winner Nyquist. O’Neill and his family reside in Santa Monica, California. We visit Doug at his training track, San Loui Ray Downs, and talk about the past, present and future of the sport of kings.  Watch video at the link below.

Episode 2 – Live Cover

Unlike other breeds of horses, thoroughbred mares must be serviced by live cover. That means when your mare is ready for breeding, you must bring her to the stallion to be bred.  Each year hundreds of breeding facilities balance the delicate cycle of scheduling and standing stallions to assure the best possible chance your mare is successfully covered in the short time it’s there. In this episode we visit Marth Jane Mulholland of Mulholland Spring Farm and Spendthrift Farms in Lexington Kentucky, for a firsthand look at how live breeding is done and how it produces some of the best racing thoroughbreds in the industry.
